What is an MSG file?
A file with the .MSG file extension is most likely an Outlook mail message file. The Microsoft Outlook program can create an MSG file that belongs to an email, appointment, contact, or task.
If it is an email, the MSG file may contain message information such as date, sender, recipient, subject, and body of the message (including custom formatting and hyperlinks), but could instead be just contact details, appointment information, or a description of the task.
If your MSG file is not related to MS Outlook, it may be in the Fallout Message file format. The Fallout 1 and 2 video games use MSG files to contain game messages and dialogue information related to the characters.
How to open MSG files
